Any nice restaurants/ karaoke bars in Los Angeles?

Hi. Does anyone know of any nice, more upscale restaurants in the LA area… especially any that offer karaoke? I am trying to plan an event for 10 of my co-workers (we are in our 20′s and 30′s) from my accounting firm. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

…and there’s probably a lot more. The karaoke experience really depends a lot on the KJ (host). The best KJ’s in the business are Lester and Sheila Crawford of Spectrum Productions. They do a lot of private parties as well for celebrities and movie wrap parties.

The Orchid at 6th and Oxford (block east of Western).
Some other people mention some nice karaoke bars but Smog Cutter is decidedly downscale and I don’t think they have food. Brass Monkey’s food is far from upscale and the wait to sing can be really long.
The food at Orchid is pretty nice (although looking online, it looks like they’ve made their menu a little less ambitious since I was last there) and they have private karaoke rooms which are great for parties.

Boardwalk 11 on National Blvd in Los Angeles. Its upscale, the bartenders are generous(the drinks are no where close to overpriced). The servers were on it and the food is great (I tried the burger).
If you’re going on Fri/Sat, make a reservation (#310 837 5245) because that place gets pretty busy!
